Dr. Irina Bochkis Publishes New Study on Nuclear Lamina Dysfunction in MASLD

IB

We are pleased to share that Dr. Irina Bochkis’s latest manuscript, “Reduced ZMPSTE24 expression leads to prelamin accumulation and development of steatosis in MASLD patients,” has been accepted for publication and is now available online in Scientific Reports.

The study uncovers how diminished ZMPSTE24 expression and resulting prelamin buildup contribute to nuclear lamina abnormalities and the development of steatosis in metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). These findings advance our understanding of nuclear architecture in metabolic liver disease and highlight potential molecular drivers of disease progression.
